Dioxane Water Stds by State

from Screenshot of Google Earth Map with data from EPA state dioxane standards table

It's shocking that Michigan, steward to 20% of the earth's fresh water, has such a lax standard for the allowable levels of 1,4-dioxane in water... thanks to the state's leaders in 1995 when the residential cleanup standard for dioxane was lossened from 3 ppb to 77 ppb... and an EPA factor change soon after that increased that by about 10% to the current 85 ppb.

Maybe it's time for Michigan to once again re-establish itself at the forefront of more protective environmental standards instead of being a laggard compared to other states.
